Do I Need DOT Exam Software for the Electronic Reporting Starting June 23rd? |
Most states have already begun receiving the electronic submission of medical exam results from the NRCME. By June 23, 2025, all States must have adopted this new system. The States are no longer allowing drivers to submit their medical certificates.
For more details on this topic, please read the newsletter we sent on 4/7/25 titled " Upcoming electronic transmission requirements from FMCSA". |
What does this mean for the medical examiner? |
The ME should continue doing what they have always done - submit the results of all CLP/CDL applicants/holders to the National Registry by midnight of the following calendar day. Medical examiners using paper may continue to do so.
The use of DOT exam software is not required. |
However, using DOT exam software offers several benefits. |
Eliminate the Hassle of Paperwork
Instantly submit completed exams and email or print completed forms for the driver. No more printing, scanning, filing, or searching through physical folders. Everything is stored securely and is instantly accessible whenever you need it.
Save Time and See More Patients
By eliminating paperwork and automating repetitive tasks, DOT exam software speeds up every step of the exam process—letting you complete more exams in less time without sacrificing accuracy.
Grow Your Business Without the Overhead
With less time spent on admin work, your staff can focus on serving more patients. Faster turnaround times and better follow-up help boost revenue with fewer resources.
Avoid Costly Mistakes
Built-in checks help prevent common errors like missing signatures or incomplete forms—reducing the risk of delays, patient complaints, or audit problems.
